Welcome Back to Westside!

We’ve made some important changes so you’ll feel safe and secure when you visit.

Opening Thoughtfully, Safely

Your safety is our priority. Westside is opening its facilities and programs in stages as public health guidelines and capacity restrictions allow.

At this time, Westside is open to reactivated annual/monthly pass holders and program registrants only. An Alberta QR Code vaccine card is required to enter.

Currently available:

  • Workouts in the Fitness Centre
  • Adult Group Exercise Classes
  • Running Track
  • Youth Workouts
  • Gym time for Badminton, Basketball, Pickleball
  • Open Swimming with access to Main Pool, Tot Pool, Waterslide, Lazy River, Hot Tub
  • Steam Rooms
  • Lane Swimming
  • Aquatic Fitness Classes
  • Private/semi-private swim lessons can be booked online
  • Wall Climbing
  • Leisure Ice Arena
  • Hockey Arena Ice Rentals
  • Child Minding
  • Change Rooms, Showers
  • Personal Training

Temporarily suspended:

  • Public drop-in activities
  • Skatepark
  • Food services

5:30 AM–9:30 PM

Saturday-Sunday
7:00 AM–8:00 PM

Statutory Holidays
9:30 AM-5:30 PM

Reactivating your Pass

You can choose to reactivate your annual pass/membership, depending on your comfort level and which Westside facilities or programs are offered. Westside will only reactivate all passes when we are fully open and operational.

You will receive an email confirming your pass has been successfully reactivated. Please allow up to 72 hours for Westside staff to process your request.

After Reactivation, Plan Your Visit

You must have reactivated your membership/pass and received an email confirmation that you are ready to visit.

Proof of full vaccination is required for all visitors 12Y and up. A provincial QR code vaccination card is the only accepted form of vaccination proof for Canadian residents; we are not able to accept past issue or out-of-country immunization receipts. Non-Canadian residents are required to provide proof of a full series of a Health Canada approved vaccine in print or digital format.

Westside does not accept negative Covid-19 tests in lieu of vaccination.

For Your Health and Safety

Proof of full vaccination is required for all visitors 12Y and up. See "After Reactivation, Plan Your Visit" for details.

Health screening prior to your arrival is encouraged.

Face masks are required at all times when not actively participating in physical activity - entry/exit, hallways, change rooms, washrooms, on the pool deck. Face masks are not required during physical activity.

Protect yourself! Sanitize equipment BEFORE and AFTER use with the wipes provided.

Please follow directional signage and one-way traffic patterns.

Working Together to Keep Our Communities Safe

If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, please do not visit Westside:

  • Do you or anyone in your household have signs of illness, including a fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat or runny nose?
  • Have you had contact with a person suspected or diagnosed with COVID-19?

To ensure we’re as clean and healthy as we can be, Westside uses:

  • Industrial disinfecting machines 
  • Gold standard disinfecting products
  • Focused cleaning strategies, particularly in high-touch areas
  • Plexiglass barriers at Customer Service

What’s Not Available Yet:

  • Public drop-in times
  • Any equipment or spaces that cannot be adequately sanitized
  • Food services
