Volunteering at Westside

Join Westside's youth volunteer team! Build your resume and gain valuable experience this summer.

If you are 13Y - 17Y, we are seeking volunteers in Westside's children's and preschool programs, swim lessons, skating programs, and more. You'll need to have earned your Emergency First Aid and CPR-C Level courses. In turn, you'll be part of a great team and get experience working with children, parents, and helping out with all kinds of fun activities.

Volunteer of the Month

Alex M is Westside’s Volunteer of the Month! He participates in all things active, and currently provides assistance with Westside’s aquatic programs.

Alex is a junior high student who believes that volunteering not only helps others but it also gives one self-purpose. “I’ve been able to meet good people, gain confidence, and develop skills for my resume,” he says. “It’s encouraging when my supervisors tell me I’m doing a great job.”

Alex also enjoys soccer, badminton and working out. Westside really values having him as a volunteer!

Youth Access

The safety of youth at Westside is a priority. Children under 13Y must be accompanied by an adult 16Y or older to be admitted.

Youth 10Y-15Y are encouraged to complete Westside's no-charge orientation to allow for unparented access to the Aquatic Park, Gym and Leisure Ice and Youth Wellness Centre (regular admission rates apply). All visitors under 18Y also require a Waiver signed by a parent to be admitted.
